Research-led funding and project strategy

Find the rightopportunities.

Build a stronger path forward.

I help U.S. nonprofits find and win the right funding through grant writing and funder research, and I help creators build the audience behind a crowdfunding campaign. Every engagement is done personally, with research, clear reporting, and sources.

Grant writing and funder research for nonprofits. Crowdfunding growth for creators.

Nonprofits and independent projects look for support in different places, so each has its own service, its own process, and its own page.

The deliverable

You see the thinking behind every recommendation.

Each report separates what is verified from what is analysis and what is still unknown. Findings arrive with sources, ratings, and a ranked next step, so you can defend the decision to a board, a partner, or yourself.

Approach

Good decisions start with good research.

Three moves, in this order, on every engagement. The deliverables change with the service. The sequence stays the same.

01

Find.

Funders, partners, and audiences with a documented reason to care about your work.

02

Verify.

Eligibility, giving history, and sources checked and recorded, every time.

03

Decide.

A ranked plan: what to pursue, what to investigate, and what to resolve first.

Work

Evidence you can inspect.

One full-cycle engagement, from eligibility check to submission-ready proposal, documented across 12 deliverables. The numbers below come from the files themselves.

Featured case study

A community caregiver-support organization and a state grant RFP.

Two phases for a community caregiver-support organization: eligibility and compliance, then a full proposal package for a request of up to $50,000.

80requirements tracked in one compliance matrix
10internal inconsistencies in the RFP, recorded and resolved
15/15automated budget checks passing
85out of 100, scored before submission against the funder's published criteria (60 required)

Safe Haven Resource Foundation

Funder matching

San Manuel Cares ranked top of four funders reviewed, backed by the funder's own $450K and $500K gifts to aligned causes.

Food For Hope Foundation

Funding strategy

One funder prioritized above a generic list, citing a documented $425K emergency hunger-relief gift in the same region.

Women With A Righteous Cry

Prospect research

A $725K+ giving circle with no open application, so relationships became the path forward.

“The funding strategy Julius prepared changed our approach. Instead of chasing every opportunity, we focused on the right ones.”

“Julius transformed our website into something we're proud to share with donors, partners, and grantmakers.”

Questions

Answered by the person who will do the work.

What does a nonprofit grant writer do?

A grant writer researches funders that match your mission, plans each application against the funder's criteria, and prepares compelling, submission-ready proposals with budgets and attachments. I also verify eligibility and track every requirement, so nothing is missed.

How do you find grants and foundations for a nonprofit?

I research each funder's published priorities, eligibility rules, and giving history, then rank funders by documented fit with your programs. Every recommendation comes with its sources, so you can see exactly why a funder made the list.

Do you help with Kickstarter or Indiegogo projects?

Yes, through Crowdfunding Growth Systems. The work covers audience research, email, social media, SEO, ads, and launch planning at every stage, with clear reporting at every step.

Why one senior operator instead of an agency?

Because the person who scopes your engagement is the same person who does the work. No account manager relaying your priorities to a junior researcher. No handoffs between departments. When you email, you reach the person whose name and reputation are actually on the line.

What results should I actually expect?

A ranked, documented list of funders whose own giving history matches your programs. Past engagements have surfaced matches backed by six-figure precedent gifts in the client's exact region and cause area. Results are detailed in writing before any grant is submitted, so you can evaluate the strategy yourself.

Do you write grants for small nonprofits?

Yes. Grant research, strategy, and writing are scoped to organizations of any size, from newly formed nonprofits to established foundations.

How much does grant writing cost?

Every engagement is scoped individually and sent in writing after an inquiry. There is no published price list, since a startup and a multi-program nonprofit are not quoted the same way.

Do you work with businesses too?

Yes. Funding strategy, website design, and brand positioning are available to social enterprises and growth-focused small businesses, not only registered nonprofits.

How long does a website take?

A focused single-page site typically runs four to five days. A multi-page build runs up to about a week, depending on scope agreed in the written proposal.

Do you work outside the United States?

Yes, by arrangement. Most client work is based in the United States, and international engagements are scoped case by case.

About

I'm Julius, founder of The Good Work Co.

I help organizations and creators raise the money their work deserves. For nonprofits, that means funder research, grant writing, donor and prospect research, and fundraising strategy. For creators, it means building the audience behind a crowdfunding campaign: backer research, email, social media, SEO, and paid ads. And I build the websites that tie it all together.

I do the work personally on every engagement. No account managers, no layers. You hire me, you work with me, and every finding arrives in writing with its sources.
